The Mission of Healing Eyes is a nonprofit team of volunteers who restore vision to the blinded poor in Zihuantanejo, Mexico and Battenbong, Cambodia. Our mission: is "to see that the blinded poor are the face of Jesus in distressing disguise." - Mother Theresa
We strive to put into practice Matthew's 25:40: "Truly I say to you, as you did it to the least of my brethren, you did it to me."
The Mission of Healing Eyes got its start when Dr. Jim and Molly Conahan and their 3 children, Megan, Matt, and Brian, answered God's call and started a small clinic in Ixtapa, Mexico. The mission and has grown to perform well over 2500 plus cataract surgeries, 400 plus pterygia and laser surgeries, 12,000 plus pairs of glasses distributed, 7800 plus patients seen, and 21 mission have been completed since 1997!
